A musical performance with percussion instruments, in which children actively participate, is something special in Slovenia. Organizers, too, will surely be pleased with it, as it is educational, interactive, and, not least, technically undemanding.
The performers are Franci Krevh and Tomaž Pačnik. The purpose of this educational performance is to get to know percussion instruments from different parts of the world in interesting ways. Percussion instruments are the instruments that children most easily and (most) happily observe, since rhythm is a primal musical component that they already felt while still in their mother’s womb.
In the musical performance WITH DRUMS AND SONG AROUND THE WORLD, they will discover that the difference between a big drum and a small drum is not just in size, that African drums are actually a “primitive telephone,” and many other interesting drumming facts. Also, that the human body itself can be a “percussion instrument.”
The target audience is children from four (4) to nine (9) years old. Of course, younger and older participants also join in wholeheartedly. The performance has been extremely well received at many prestigious children’s subscription series and festivals (Pikin Festival, Lent Festival, …)
